The GDD-1 is a premium outward-opening double door for use in timber garden buildings, log cabins, and summerhouses. Constructed from 68mm finger-jointed and laminated pine, it combines structural rigidity with the natural aesthetics of Nordic timber — making it a seamless match for Dadsons log cabin structures.
Performance and Security
At the core of the GDD-1 is a high-quality MACO 3-point locking system, delivering reliable security across the full height of the door frame. Adjustable MACO hinges allow precise alignment on installation and long-term adjustment as the timber naturally acclimates to its environment.
Thermal and Weather Performance
The two 4mm tempered glass panes are separated by a 16mm cavity (4+16+4) filled with Argon gas, which provides better insulation than air. One pane features a microscopically thin coating that reflects heat, enhancing energy efficiency by reducing thermal transfer (LowE). The silicone sealant ensures the unit remains airtight and watertight throughout its life. Overall, the composition achieves a U-value of 1.1. Rubber draught excluders on all sides deliver effective wind and water resistance, while an aluminium threshold strip protects the base against wear and moisture ingress. The spruce casing is finished with rubber sealants to ensure a weather-tight perimeter seal.
Dimensions and Delivery
The door unit measures 1854mm wide and 2072mm tall (overall frame), with a clear opening of 1508mm wide and 1826mm tall. All components are delivered as a pre-assembled, ready-to-fit unit.
